The portals are done so well and really do give a fresh take on the arena shooter genre. Not only that, but the gun play really does bring you back to the golden days. I played the beta for like 10 hours and plan on playing this game a lot. The map design is superb and playing the game really is a breath of fresh air in our over-saturated battle royale fps market we are in. Would highly recommend!. I love this game! As a Halo and Portal player, I can see the elements of both working together seamlessly. The portals help keep each game fresh and different from your last. My only complaints so far are the screens that require you to mouse over the "back" button without an option from the keyboard such as ESC as well as not being able to auto-queue into another game.. Very fun especially in ranked! Que times do tend to get longer past rank 10 in the playlists. Currently Rank 16 and i get about 5 minute que times and dont dare solo que. Splitgate has been an amazing experience from Alpha and into the end of Beta. The flow and feel of the game is absolutely amazing. They are planning to involve the community in nearly every aspect of the game and seem to be more worried about making a good game than a good buck. The developers and community as a whole are very friendly as well and actively play their own game and listen to feed back. Content even in the beta had a healthy flow. They even pushed back the release date to make sure we all have an amazing day one experience. It all goes to show how amazing this game is and how much love was put into it and the community by its amazing developers.. Let me write this review, I've seen a lot of harsh words said about this game. We live in a day and age of battle royale games and this game is a arena shooter. Meaning power weapons are supposed to be OP and requires coordination with your teammates to secure them. Also, this game is not halo, it's halo"esque" but this is its own game. Just like any game some people are ahead of the curve on using portals to their full advantage, and some of us need to work on that. However there are some tweaks that could be made to the game. Sounds need to be enhanced to allow players to hear portals opening close to them, and maybe tweak the damage on certain weapons. As it stands this game has a lot of replay value and is a breath of fresh air to the gaming industry in this point and time. Will Halo MCC rival and maybe ruin this game? Possibly, but lets all enjoy arena shooters again and give this game time to settle.. I've been playing since the pre-alpha. I love it!. updated review-I have plenty of games and have had my CPU since December of last year and honestly this is the best game to play i haven't been invested in a ranking system or game like this since halo 3 and Gears 2.I see this game gets some hate and I don't understand I haven't had one issue since launch I support the Devs 100% they are releasing patches\/updates a lot and it hasn't even been out a month yet and its good.. The game has incredibly inconsistent relaod bugs. Not even related to reloads specifically, sometimes youll be ocmpletely unable to fire your gun. The game feels like halo + portal sure. But dying consistently several times a game because your gun literally seems to misfire? Yea no. The audio in the game is completely \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665ed too. Gun shots as well as footsteps seem to just be randomly placed and not actually give any form of direction, at least not a correct direction. Would be a fun game if you could play with functioning audio as well as guns that inconsistently misfire, if its gonna be\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665at least be consistently\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 makes it less frustrating.. Super fun, nice package for a day 1 F2P launch. Total Halo vibes, with Portal meta.Custom games are a blast with friends, and ranked is as sweaty as I like. I bought the paid edition day 1, and am happy to see an indie dev kill it on a fps f2p.
